When a person or obstacle enters the corresponding zone, the system responds immediately. Once the object enters the stop zone, the vehicle automatically stops, effectively preventing safety accidents such as collisions and crushing.

After the person or obstacle leaves the protection area, the vehicle can automatically resume operation. This ensures production safety while maintaining the continuity and stability of automated operations.

Safety Edge: Passive Contact Protection for the Last Line of Defense

In addition to the active protection provided by LiDAR, the Safety Edge serves as a reliable passive safety component and plays an important role in the AGV/RGV safety system.

A Safety Edge is a soft, flexible pressure-sensitive sensor typically installed along hazardous areas of the vehicle, such as around the vehicle body, underneath the vehicle, and at locations where crushing or collision may occur. Its dimensions can be customized according to different vehicle models and on-site equipment requirements.

When a person or obstacle accidentally comes into contact with or presses against the Safety Edge, the system immediately triggers a protection signal and controls the vehicle to stop rapidly, effectively preventing accidents such as crushing and collision.

Once the person or obstacle leaves the contact area, the vehicle can automatically resume normal operation.

This provides contact-based safety protection and, when combined with LiDAR, creates an additional layer of protection for AGV/RGV vehicles.
