Tire Safety Protection “Combination”: Soft Protection + Advanced Technology, Leaving No Safety Risk Unaddressed

The tire industry faces multiple safety risks throughout the stages of production, processing, and use, including mechanical injuries and material splashes. Safety protection is not only essential for safeguarding the health of workers but also a fundamental requirement for the stable and sustainable development of the industry. This article focuses on the key safety risks in the tire industry, explains practical protection principles, and provides tailored safety solutions for commonly used equipment, offering practical guidance for safer industrial operations.

As core equipment for tire manufacturing, rubber processing equipment (open mills and rubber mixers) and component preparation equipment such as calenders, extruders, and tire cutting machines are prone to safety incidents caused by accidental contact with moving parts or unexpected material ejection during operation. Muke’s series of safety protection products are specifically designed to address these risks. The products feature flexible installation and can be mounted in critical positions, such as on the side or front of equipment, without requiring complex modifications. With an integrated transmit-and-receive design and customizable protection zones, the system detects the reflective coating on the operator’s wristband to transmit a safety signal. Without interfering with normal production operations, it establishes a reliable safety barrier.

As a core piece of equipment in the tire manufacturing process, tire building machines present significant safety risks, particularly from personnel entering the operating area or foreign objects entering the machine. A three-layer protection solution combining laser sensors, safety mats, and safety edges can establish a robust safety barrier.

First, laser sensors can be installed flexibly according to site conditions, with the size of the protected area adjustable as required. Once a person or object is detected entering the preset protection zone, the sensor immediately triggers the equipment to stop.

Second, safety mats, also known as safety pressure mats, are pressure-sensitive safety devices that can be installed directly around the equipment. Their dimensions can be customized, accommodating circular, rectangular, and irregular shapes. When someone steps onto the mat, the equipment immediately stops operating.

In addition, safety edges, also known as anti-collision strips, are soft, flexible pressure-sensitive switches available in strip or tubular forms. They can sensitively detect even slight contact or impact and quickly transmit a safety signal.

These three technologies complement one another to create a comprehensive safety protection system.

As a key piece of equipment for tire curing and vulcanization, the tire curing press typically operates under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions. The risk of accidental contact with moving parts at the opening and closing areas of the equipment is particularly high. A safety edge protection solution provides targeted protection for these hazardous areas.

This protection system is not a single component, but rather a complete system consisting of a soft, flexible insulating outer sleeve, sensor or switching device, aluminum rail, controller, and other auxiliary components. These components work together to provide stable and reliable safety protection for critical operating areas of the tire curing press, helping to prevent potential hazards during operation.
